Machine Operator
A recent immigrant from Barbados, who is an Industrial Electrician and Machine Operator by profession, completed the Job Search Workshop, and sent the following "Thank You" letter to the JSW Facilitator at Job Start:

"I am keeping you informed of my progress after completing the week-long training sessions on resumes, interviews and job search techniques.
I landed in October. From October to January I never got a reply to any job I applied through email. After completing your program in February, I applied through email and post, and got four interviews for machine operator positions, for different companies including Premier Candles, Home Depot, Dominion Springs and Arvin Meritor. (Sent about 40 applications, approximately 5 a day.)
I got hired at Arvin Meritor. I am to start on April 18th, 2006. Arvin Meritor is five minutes walk from my apartment.
I am still working on getting a Construction and Maintenance Electrician License. I owe my progress to your programs and many email notices about other programs. Things seem attainable now. Thank you for your help."
