Senior IT Consultant
I worked in US for over three years in IT. I then immigrated to Canada in May 2004. My educational background is BCom (Finance and Accounting)Diploma in Software Development as well as an MBA (Systems).

My attendance to the Job Search Workshop provided an excellent learning experience and an opportunity to meet people from different background. I liked the ideas across about finding a part time job to keep one busy and surviving financially. Armed with the knowledge from the workshop, I applied for a job with a major telecommunications company.I did not mention my MBA and customized my resume as per the requirements of the job, highlighting my communication and interpersonal skills and got the job.

Although it was a nice experience as they offered paid training for almost two months, they knew I was trying to get back into the IT field. Eventually my hard work paid off, as I now I have an offer with a Software Consultancy firm based in Toronto as a Sr.IT Consultant! It took me exactly a year but I think it was worth the patience, perseverance and strategy to market myself, remain focused and keep working towards the goal!!
